All that glitters is not always gold – it can be silver, platinum, diamond and more!
From 17 to 20 April, Hall 5 of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is set to be transformed into a veritable Aladdin’s cave of sparkling treasure, courtesy of the Malaysia International Jewellery Festival 2015 (MIJ15) Spring Edition.
Accredited by the Malaysia Book of Records as the biggest jewellery exhibition in the country since 1997, the 2015 spring edition of the biannual festival will bring together 160 exhibitors from over 23 countries to showcase the best of their precious products. Brands from the Asian region will be out in full force, but the addition of representatives from countries as far flung as Dubai and Poland make it a truly international affair.
Also of special note is the participation of a large Italian contingent who will bring their exquisite creations to Malaysia for the first time. An extensive range of jewellery pieces will be on display including mainstays such as diamond, platinum, pearl, gold, enamel, jade and more, as well as plenty of antique pieces to wow visitors.
With the lively spring season being an obvious central theme of the exhibition, floral and animal motifs as well as pastel colours are expected to feature heavily in this showcase. Gemstones and precious metals are increasingly becoming a feature of timepiece design, especially in regards to women’s watches. In recognition of this symbiotic relationship, major watch brands will be present at MIJ15 as a nod to the watch’s rise to luxury accessory status.
Besides finished jewellery pieces, prized gems in both cut and rough forms and beautiful pearls of all kinds will have their moment to shine at MIJ15. Traditional favourites like diamonds and sapphires will share space with more uncommon stones like coral and turquoise, while both cultured and natural pearls from Tahiti to the South Sea will also be on display.
It’s time to add a little sparkle in your life with MIJ15. Free invitations will be sent to visitors of a previous edition of the festival, but even new participants only have to pay a token sum of RM10 for entry into the most sparklingly fabulous event in the KL calendar. Come along and prepare to be dazzled!
