KidZania Kuala Lumpur welcomes a new batch of CongreZZ Kids for 2015!
How often have we wished, as kids, to live in a world without adults telling us what we can and can’t do? Would you have made your own rules? How could you have made a difference? How would you have made it your world?

One month after KidZania Kuala Lumpur’s third birthday, twenty lucky kids will get a chance to find out as they were sworn into the KidZania CongreZZ – the legislative governmental body of KidZania – for the 2015 office term; only the second CongreZZ since its introduction to KidZania Kuala Lumpur in 2014.
CongreZZ Kids 2014 singing the KidZania National Anthem
Festivities began in the Theatre with a proud rendition of the KidZania National Anthem, led by the CongreZZ Kids of 2014 with the iconic Kai salute – two fingers pressed over their hearts – before an energetic song-and-dance by the same children followed to liven up the atmosphere.
Susanah Abdul Rani, Governor of KidZania Malaysia and Singapore, then took to the stage to congratulate the former batch of CongreZZ Kids on setting a high standard for the new CongreZZ to follow.
“KidZania CongreZZ is an authentic and powerful developmental experience that will prepare its members for the real world,” she said.
Scale to new heights and push the boundaries with the Wall Climbing Building!
“Through their participation of engaging forums and activities, they will be exposed to situations and opportunities where they can exercise their independence, build their confidence, and gain skills in decision-making, critical thinking and communications.”
As a token of appreciation, she and KidZania Kuala Lumpur Mayor Shahrul Nizar presented a memento to each member of the outgoing CongreZZ, who beamed with pride as they accepted their gleaming plaques and posed for the cameras.
A video recap of their time in CongreZZ over the year 2014 played on the screen, capturing everything from their first day as CongreZZ members and visiting KidZania partner facilities, down to helping out at orphanages and planting trees for KidZania’s Kids for a Greener World global campaign.
Nizar said that the first batch of CongreZZ Kids, ranging from ages 10-12 years old, had undergone a visible transformation during their time in CongreZZ and had shown themselves to be active, engaging and caring.
A KidZania information posters to educate children while they wait
Among their contributions to KidZania were putting up information posters for children to read while they were queueing for activities, establishing the ‘Jadi Batik’ activity for parents and children to engage in together, and inviting orphans to come and visit KidZania after a trip to orphanages.
The audience was then introduced to the new CongreZZ kids by way of another video highlight, following their progress from video audition stage to full-force campaigning in KidZania, complete with voting posters and individual performances.
Despite their youth, the platforms that the candidates tackled were surprisingly adult, including the serious issues of bullying and drug abuse, as well as the lighter but still equally relevant problems of heavy schoolbags and insufficient time.
As the lights came back on, the excited but nervous children were ushered on stage, all smart in black and white attire. Fingers over their hearts, they recited the KidZania Oath after the Mayor of KidZania Kuala Lumpur, promising to champion the cause of KidZania CitiZens and make a difference.
Ybhg Dato’ Haji Ahmad Tajudin bin Jab banging the gavel as the CongreZZ kids look on in anticipation
Each child affixed his or her seal to the CongreZZ Act, affirming the vows they made – and with a bang of the gavel, Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Haji Ahmad Tajudin bin Jab, Deputy Director-General of Education (Education Operations) declared the 2015 CongreZZ in session!
“I will be a good CongreZZ kid. I can do it!” they promised; and 2015 will surely see them put to the test. Kai, CongreZZ Kids of 2015!
The award-winning KidZania concept was founded and developed in Mexico in 1996 by Xavier Lopez Ancona. KidZania combines roleplay with real life in an interactive indoor learning and entertainment experience, targeting kids aged 4 to 14 years in a kid-centric city adventure. As in the real world, kids choose from over 100 roleplay activities across 60 different establishments - such as being a police officer, doctor, journalist or a customer - and earn currency called kidZos, which they can then spend or save.
CongreZZ Kids was first introduced to KidZania Kuala Lumpur in 2014 after fulfilling all the requirements, and the 2015 KidZania CongreZZ campaign attracted over 260 applications. Benefits of being a KidZania CongreZZ Kid include being involved in the decision-making process for activity enhancement at KidZania KL, a CongreZZ Kids Office Package, a service plaque and complimentary monthly admission into KidZania KL for the CongreZZ Kid and four friends.
