The German car manufacturer gives the Malaysian public its first look at the third generation of TT
Audi has unveiled its new third generation Audi TT coupe as it has now gone on sale to the Malaysian public. ‘Daring to set the benchmark for what constitutes a sports car’, the new TT has all the hallmarks of what made the first two generations popular, while adopting a ‘less is more’ philosophy to the design concept and introducing a myriad of cutting-edge technological features for a better driving experience.
First introduced in 1995 as a concept car during the Frankfurt Motor Show, the TT concept captured the imagination of attendees with its bold silhouette, geometric features and a formally coherent language. Because of the overwhelmingly positive feedback Audi received at that time, that concept car was made a reality in 1998 with the first-generation TT coupe.
“Over the past twenty years, the Audi TT has consistently been the epitome of an authentic design icon, simply because we at Audi dared to push the boundaries of what truly defined a sports car. The third-generation TT you see today is a result of our philosophy of putting no limits in engineering a performance-oriented, emotionally sculpted, technological tour-de-force that embodies everything that we at Audi stand for,” said Immo Buschmann, Managing Director of Audi Malaysia.
At the car’s official launch, Mr Buschmann was joined by Malaysian driving legend Alex Yoong, who drove the car on a catwalk-like track in front of the assembled guests. The all-new Audi TT coupe will be offered in a total of ten colour choices and be made available for booking at all authorised Audi dealerships from 8 May onwards at a retail price of RM284,900.
