STYLO International spearhead Malaysia’s boating renaissance with the launch of maritime subsidiary, Reissiger Marine
Tucked away on a magical cove on the north western edge of Langkawi lies The Datai, an idyllic resort that ranks as one of the world’s most exclusive getaways. It was here, amid an ancient rainforest brimming with wildlife, that the country’s leading event organiser – STYLO International – recently launched the Mercedez-Benz STYLO Fashion Grand Prix as well as Reissiger Marine – its new maritime arm – to invited media and VIPs.
Present at the launch was STYLO International president and CEO Datuk Nancy Yeoh; President and CEO of Mercedez-Benz Malaysia, Roland Folger; Honorary Advisor to STYLO International, Datuk Jimmy Choo; CEO of Reissiger Marine, Rolv Reissiger; and Founder of Boatshed, Neil Chapman.

Boatshed is the world’s largest yacht brokerage and STYLO have partnered up with the global enterprise to help make boating more of a reality for the general public, not only in Malaysia, but in greater Asia. Boatshed is the ideal partner for this venture as it counts some 50 territories around the world to its name.
The founding of Reissiger Marine – a new addition to the lifestyle segment of STYLO International – will see a slew of boat shows, maritime events and boat trading shows taking place over the course of the year, with one of the aims being to make the sale and buying of boats more accessible.
Speaking at the launch, Chapman noted that: “This is an exciting partnership as Asia is currently the place to be for maritime. The maritime scene in Malaysia is thriving and has a lot of growth potential in the fast growing East Asia Marine market. We are enthusiastic about our partnership with Reissiger Marine to welcome Boatshed Asia, which will definitely please many within the maritime fraternity here.”

Held at Teluga Harbour, the launch of the Fashion Grand Prix and Reissiger Marine was marked by the unveiling of Stylo II ‘The Shabby Chic’ – a lifestyle concept vessel that echoes this year’s STYLO theme of ‘Fashion Anarchy’. Sleek and compact, the new boat is a study in multifunctionality, while boasting stylish and comfortable decks.

While Stylo II will be a highlight in the upcoming fashion exhibition at the Fashion Grand Prix, days away from the Malaysia Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit, Stylo I was the other big announcement set to launch in May. Media were given a sneak peak at the new boat.
