In an effort to expand its expertise in the medical field of coronary heart disease, Institute Jantung Negara (National Heart Institute) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with prominent integrated healthcare provider, BP Healthcare.
The MoU, which sees the Institute gain the operation of one of the largest health screening centres in Malaysia, will help bring awareness to the public about coronary heart disease while encouraging Malaysians to perform medical examinations for early detection.
This new partnership comes at a time when the risk of developing coronary heart disease as a result of obesity and stress related problems is on the rise. Cardiologists at IJN will be stationed at the BP Specialist Centre in Taman Megah, PJ for consultation purposes and to refer patients with coronary heart disease to heart specialists or cardiologists at IJN.
This cardiology clinic will be operating for the first six months and depending on demand, will add further branches down the line. The new venture will help support government initiatives in providing the best and affordable health care services to Malaysians.
