Andrew Tan, Founder of the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week, with the 10 finalists

Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready To Wear (KLFW RTW) 2015 will feature never-seen-before runway-worthy looks from over 80 Malaysian Designers, shown exclusively during the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week from 12-16 August 2015 at the Pavilion KL Centre Court.

Running in conjunction with the KLFW RTW is the AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search, a part of the airline’s continuous commitment to develop the talent of tomorrow. This new initiative provides a platform for aspiring designers to highlight their talents and help them stage their designs to the fashion elite of the capital.

A total of 62 designers were shortlisted from over 350 submissions from aspiring fashion students nationwide, who will present their sketches to a panel of judges which consist of AirAsia Berhad CEO Aireen Omar, KLFW RTW Founder Andrew Tan, fashion industry heavyweights Khoon Hooi and Jovian Mandagie as well as EH! Magazine Editor Khairul Abidin Ishak.

AirAsia Berhad CEO Aireen Omar commented, “We have always been a great supporter of youth and talent development in the region, and through the submissions that I have seen, we are very impressed by the quality of talents that we have here. It was a tough call for all of us to drill down from 62 shortlisted designs to the Top 25, followed by the Top 10. I am definitely looking forward to seeing all of them on the runway during KL Fashion Week RTW 2015 in August.”
